My long search a healthy skincare product

Ten years ago I was diagnosed with ER-positive breast cancer, which means that the growth is driven by the hormone oestrogen, which accounts for 70% of all breast cancers diagnosed. 

Most solid cancer tumours are hormonally responsive and the hormone that drives them is an oestrogen. Not just in women - but in men too.

I discovered that parabens may have contributed quite a lot to my condition as they are chemicals that are used as preservatives in skincare and beauty products that mimic oestrogen. So with someone like myself, who already had high levels of oestrogen, applying products to the skin that contain parabens will simply drive up oestrogen levels even more.

In studies of women with breast cancer, researchers found traces of parabens in every single sample of affected breast tissue.  While there is no evidence that parabens cause cancer, and while they are approved for use by regulators, many people worry about their safety.

Because of my own health experience, I have been searching high and low for skincare products that are pure, beneficial and free of nasties like parabens, but have yet to find a product that does what it claims to do on the bottle.

Then I found Arbonne!

My friend Laura introduced me to Arbonne in July 2010 and I haven’t looked back.  Laura had suffered health issues for years, having been diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome, and was told to avoid chemicals, especially parabens that mimics oestrogen, which could affect her health and make things even worse, just like me. 

We met for lunch and the first thing I noticed was how healthy and happy she looked.  She was positively glowing and said it was all down to Arbonne. 

She then explained to me that all of the products from Arbonne are pure and botanical and that she had joined up as an Arbonne consultant and was making decent money introducing people to the product whilst running this alongside her Maternity Consultancy business. 

Cynical....Me?

She was very enthusiastic - but I wasn't convinced. I thought that she was involved in a 'get rich quick scheme' and we all know that they are scams right?  But I said I was happy to try the product.

Laura gave me a gold bag that contained the whole range of RE9 Advanced skincare and asked me to use it for 3 days, free of charge, and see and feel the difference. 

What an amazing experience!  By the second day people were commenting on how well I looked and some even jokily asked me for the name of my cosmetic surgeon.  But this product had more surprises to deliver!  After using Arbonne for 2 weeks, I started to feel completely different, like the stress ‘switch’ inside my body had been turned off.  My sleep patterns improved and I felt much more relaxed and positive about life.  I can only surmise that I had a toxic chemical build up in my body that was released when I stopped using products containing parabens.    

WOW!  At last, a product that works on the inside as well as the outside!

Since then, I have had a fabulous time working through all the range of products and can verify that they are all fabulous - from the bath and hair products to the make-up which stays on all day, which is a miracle in the making! 

AND all parabens and petrochemical free

I am so glad that I found Arbonne.  I am amazed at the Swiss formulated products and even more excited about the incredible business opportunity.

I would advise anyone reading this to put their fear to one side and jump in with both feet!  It’s an amazing journey!
